With rapid mountain access on the Eagle Bahn Gondola, Lionshead combines specialty shops, restaurants and lodging. This area is in the midst of a major redevelopment as view corridors to the ski mountain are re-established and much needed meeting and lodging facilities are created and updated to meet the future needs of Vail. Rising property values should be a bonus to this "facelift!"

Replacing the old gondola building and Sunbird Lodge in the middle of Lionshead, and slated for completion this fall, Arrabelle at Vail Square will have 67 condominiums, a 36-room Rock Resorts hotel, stores and ice rink. The new skier bridge crossing Gore Creek has been doubled from 20 to 40 feet, and provides direct access to the mountain.

In other areas of Lionshead construction continues, as ground is broken in west Lionshead, for the eagerly anticipated Ritz-Carlton Residences at the corner of Forest Road, near the Vail Marriott. The project will be home to 108 condominiums with the incomparable service and amenities associated with the Ritz.

Recently announced as Vail Resorts’ newest green initiative, EverVail is an ambitious $1 billion development slated to transform a 9.5-acre parcel in West Lionshead into a “green” multi-use village with residences, hotel, office and retail space, restaurants, public parking garage, new gondola and a public park.
